Gmc intellilink bluetooth not working

The Pixel 8 Pro will NOT auto-connect. I've tried everything. Disabling the Bluetooth AVRCP only works while the head unit is searching...and it eventually finds the Pixel 8 Pro but I have to manually tap to connect. It used to automatically connect over wireless, always without a failure every time.
